1)  Grab the drill pick from your RoomDividersNow Divider Kit
2)  Unwind the end cap of the tension rod
3)  Slide the divider over the tension rod
4)  Grab the tension rod end cap and drill piece once again
5)  Tighten the end cap back to the tension rod
6)  Now its time to hang the divider!  Push one end of the rod firmly against the wall
7)  Twist the tension rod away from your body to extend the rod to the desired length
8)  Twist the rod until it is angled one foot below it's actual end placement
9)  Push the rod upwards until it grips the end placement firmly
10)  Pull down on the rod to make sure the room divider is secure
11)  3 Tug Test Time!!!  Pull down on the divider 3 times to make sure it is secure

And there you have it!  In minutes you just created privacy and space.

*If smudge marks appear on the wall after the tension rod is pushed upwards this can easily be cleaned off with a wet rag.

Divider Kit (Drill Required) Installation:

Once you have determined where you wish to hang a divider, your first step is to decide if the divider needs to be pulled open and drawn closed like window curtains (Sliding Divider) versus a fixed set-up where the divider will remain in place and not require opening (Fixed Divider).

Sliding Divider:

1)    Determine the width of the area which you wish to divide. If it is 10 ft. or less, use our Divider Kits that require no drilling (instructions located above).

2)    If the width of the area which you wish to divide is greater than 10 ft., you can use one or more of our hangers but the rod will require one or more center support brackets.  The bracket will keep the divider from sliding past that support.  You will be able to open the divider as far as the location of that bracket.  We recommend placing the center support brackets 2 to 3 feet from the wall (2 to 3 feet of the divider will sit permanently in the fixed area between the support bracket and the wall).  This will give a space larger than 10’ more support as well as maintain a natural look when the divider is slid open to one side.  Use the following size breakdown for guidance:

            A)   Width is 10 ft or under – Use a "Small" Divider Kit or one of our Divider Kits that do not require drilling.  Divider will open completely to either end of the room.

            B)   Width is 10 ft to 12 ft – Use a "Medium" Divider Kit.  Medium Divider Kits can divide and conquer any space from 10’1” to 12’ (includes one 15’ Divider and 100” to 144” Adjustable Hanging Rod with 3 brackets).  You will only have to use 1 center support bracket which can be located 2 feet from one end of the rod.  This will allow you to open the divider to within 2 feet of the end of the room.  *Remember that 2 feet of the room divider will sit permanently in the fixed area between the support bracket and the wall.  This will give the divider a natural look when it is slid open to one side of the room.

            C)   Width is 12 ft. to 14’6” - Use a "Large" Divider Kit.  Large Divider Kits can divide and conquer any space from 12’ 1" to 14’ 6” (includes one 15’ Divider, one 100” to 144” Adjustable Hanging Rod, and one Adjustable Hanging Rod 30” to 54” with 5 brackets).  You will only have to use 1 center support bracket which can be located 3 feet from one end of the rod.  This will allow you to open the divider to within 3 feet of the end of the room.  *Remember that 3 feet of the room divider will sit permanently in the fixed area between the support bracket and the wall.  This will give the divider a natural look when it is slid open to one side of the room.

            D)   Width is 14’7”  to 16’8” - Use an "Extra Large" Divider Kit.  Extra Large Divider Kits can divide and conquer any space from 14’ 7” to 16’ 8” (includes two 10’ Dividers, one 100” to 144” Adjustable Hanging Rod, and one Adjustable Hanging Rod 54” to 100” with 5 brackets).  You will only have to use 1 center support bracket which can be located to allow each 10’ divider to open completely to each end of the room. This will give the divider a natural look when it is slid open to each side of the room.

            E)    Width is 16’9” to 20’ - Use an "Extra Extra Large" Divider Kit.  Extra Extra Large Divider Kits can divide and conquer any space from 16’ 9” to 20’ (includes two 10’ Dividers and two 100” to 144” Adjustable Hanging Rods with 6 brackets).  You will only have to use 1 center support bracket which can be located to allow each 10’ divider to open completely to each end of the room. This will give the divider a natural look when it is slid open to each side of the room.

            F)    Width is 20’ to 24’ – use one 10’ Divider and one 15’ Divider and two large hangers.  Two center support brackets can be located to allow each divider to open to within 2’ of each end of the room.  If additional support is needed place another support bracket in the middle of the hanger.  *Remember that 3 feet of the room divider will sit permanently in the fixed area between the support bracket and the wall on each side of the room.  This will give the divider a natural look when it is slid open to one side of the room.

Fixed Divider:

Install hooks in the ceiling spaced every 12” to match the spacing of the grommet rings at the top of the Room Divider.  Hang the Divider on the hooks.
